### Compliance commitments

CAN-TAP Verified follows the Yelp/BBB verified-directory pattern. We are NOT a link farm.

- All listings require domain ownership verification (meta tag or DNS TXT — same pattern as Google Search Console)
- Manual review for first 100 claims; automatic afterward
- Rate limit: 5 claims per IP per day on the public API
- Anchor text is the business name (natural, no keyword manipulation)
- No reciprocal link required from the business
- All outlinks live on individual business pages (not sitewide footer/sidebar)
- Topically focused (Canadian businesses only)
